Utility Proposes To Serve 50% Of Small Customer Default Service Load From NE-ISO Wholesale Market Participation

Public Service of New Hampshire (Eversource) has filed a proposal to serve 50% of its small customer group default service load from ISO New England market purchases, for the August 2025 to January 2026 period.

{***} “Pursuant to the Commission’s Order Approving Petition for February 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025 Rates, and Requiring Filing of Company Proposal for Expanded Market-Based Procurements by February 7, 2025, Order No. 27,090 (December 19, 2024) (the “Order”), Public Service Company of New Hampshire d/b/a Eversource Energy (the “Company”) was directed to file with the Commission, no later than February 7, 2025, a proposal for an expanded ISO-New England market-based procurement approach for the ES Small Customer Group, as delineated in this Order, for the Company’s upcoming August 2025-January 2026 [Energy Service rate] period, to be assessed by the Commission in a future phase of this proceeding. 

The Company hereby submits its proposal for expanded limited direct ISO New England wholesale market participation for 50% of its Small Customer Group load, in addition to 100% of its Large Customer Group load, for the six-month Energy Service rate period beginning on August 1, 2025, as set forth in the enclosed pre-filed joint testimony of Parker Littlehale and Ashley N. Botelho. The Company respectfully requests that the Commission review and approve this proposal, through a further phase of the proceeding, in a timely manner and with a decision issued not later than April 15, 2025, in order to afford the Company sufficient time to prepare to implement the expanded direct market participation in conjunction with the competitive solicitation of third-party wholesale supply for the remaining tranches of its Small Customer Group load.” {***}
