Eversource Seeks Approval of New Generation Services Charge for Large C&I Customers
80% of Standard Service Load Awarded for Second Half 2026 and 10% for 2027
In Connecticut on February 13, 2026 Eversource filed a motion seeking PURA approval of new a Generation Services Charge for LRS customers (large C&I with more than 500kW in demand).
In the filing, the utility said, “[t]his proposed rate adjustment will decrease the total average bill for LRS customers by approximately 27%. In addition, the Company is undertaking measures to ensure that LRS customers receive information about the proposed April 1, 2026 decrease to energy supply rates, including outreach by account executives to this smaller segment of business customers.”
Previously on February 10, 2026 Eversource made a filing stating, “…it has awarded 80% of its SS load for the second half of 2026 and 10% of its SS load for the first half of 2027. In addition, Eversource has awarded 100% of the LRS load for the second quarter of 2026 (April 1 – June 30).” Additionally, the utility noted for 2026 Q2, the supplier Five Elements Energy II is serving all of the LRS load.
