Long-Term Contracts Approved ofr Sale of RECs ot Six Generation Projects

The Maine Public Utilities Commission issued an order awarding long-term contracts for the sale of energy, or energy and renewable energy credits (RECs), to six generation projects.

“Staff has now contacted all bidders that were awarded a contract, and therefore, any bidder that has not been contacted by the Commission did not receive an award.”

As background, MEPUC-initiated docket to solicit proposals for energy or RECs produced by qualifying distributed generation resources for contracts with utilities. Bidders selected will enter a contract with one or both of Maine’s investor-owned utilities— Central Maine Power Company (CMP) and Versant Power (Versant)
