May 2024 TPUC Complaint Statistics Now Available!
For the month of May 2024, the PUCT complaint staff received a total of 1,058 complaints, up from the 911 received in April. The PUCT also received 247 more electric complaints than it received in April. REP complaints comprised 46% of the total volume of complaints related to electric service.

The five REPs receiving the most complaints in May accounted for approximately 57% of all the REP complaints, with one REP receiving 38% of the total received by the five REPs. To obtain company-specific information, please contact us.

Quality of service, provision of service, and billing ((rates/charges) complaints accounted for 77% of the complaints received in May.

Also, during May, the PUCT staff closed 587 complaints related to electric service. Of that number, approx- imately 99% were investigated by the PUCT staff. PUCT staff found 58 rule violations (electric complaints requiring investigation and closed) in May 2024. Of the 58 rule violations, only 4 were for a late filed (or no) complaint responses.
REP violations accounted for 85% of the electric violations in May. Of that number, provision of service complaints accounted for 28% of the violations and billing complaints accounted for 29% of the violations.
