New Data Center Bill Would Mitigate Utility Cost Shifts To Other Customers

SB57 bill would permit CPUC to assess the extent to which utility costs associated with new data center loads are shifted to other customers and opportunities to prevent or mitigate such cost shifts. If CPUC carries out such an assessment, it must submit a copy to the legislature by January 1, 2027.
