New York PSC Issues Show Cause Orders To Six DER Providers; Staff Identify Several Apparent Violations Of Regulatory Rules By Companies
From the Press Release:
“The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) today ordered six distributed energy resource (DER) providers in New York State to show cause, within 30 days, why their authorization to act as providers should not be revoked or why other consequences, as set forth in the Commission’s Uniform Business Practices (UBP) for distributed energy resource (DER) suppliers, should not be imposed.”
“Every distributed energy resource provider in New York must comply with all applicable orders from this Commission to maintain eligibility to operate in New York,” said Commission Chair Rory M. Christian. “Compliance is essential to ensuring customers are receiving what they pay for, and when the companies fail to comply, enforcement actions aim to address these issues and minimize harm to consumers.”
“The Commission initiated an enforcement proceeding against the following companies: YSG Solar Installers, Y Energy Services, Premier Solar Solutions, Soltec America, Long Island Solar Solutions and Monolith Solar Associates. Each company must show within 30 days why their eligibility should not be revoked for alleged violations of the UBP. Some examples of allegations include: failure to make required filings under the UBP such as annual compliance statements; failure to respond to notices of apparent violations; and failure to provide information requested by staff.
