NH PUC Directs Parties to Hold Work Group Meetings Re: Eversource’s Proposed Rate Designs That May Not Support Investment in Modern Onsite Generation And Load-Shifting Technologies
In the Eversource’s Rate LG and Rate B transmission rate design matter the New Hampshire PUC issued a procedural order scheduling a status conference and directing participants to hold rate design working group meetings “during the weeks of March 23, April 13, and May 11, 2026.”
As background the New Hampshire PUC initiated the investigation in light of the testimony of Large Customer Consortium (LCC) in Eversource’s general rate case raising concerns that the rate design for the rates don’t support investment in modern onsite generation and load-shifting technologies or incentivize operational changes to minimize contribution to peak demand, which may result in higher transmission rates for all customers due to driving earlier or greater system expansion or incentive-based demand management programs due to inefficient price signals.
