PUC Grants Option 1 REP Certificate

On August 13, 2026, the Public Utilities Commission of Texas (PUCT) issued a notice of approval to Virtual Energy election for option 1 Retail Energy Provider (REP) certification to provide retail electric service throughout the state of Texas as required by 16 TAC § 25.107.

As background, on August 21, 2025, Virtual Energy applied for an option 1 REP certificate to provide retail electric service throughout the state of Texas.

In Order No. 12 filed on July 7, 2026, the administrative law judge (ALJ) found the application, as supplemented, administratively complete.
