PUC Issues Order Approving Gas Utility’s Cost Of Gas

Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) issued a final order adopting the recommendations of the hearing examiner’s report that was issued on October 17, 2025.

Among other things the final order:

  1. approves Bangor’s: (i) “annual Cost of Gas Filing and Upstream Reservation Rate Request of $0.484 per therm”; (ii) “procedures for establishing monthly cost of gas (COG) rates”; and (iii) “a Lost and Unaccounted For factor (LAUF) of 1.00%”; and 
  2. disallows “the $32,922.29 in OFO penalties to be allocated to the company’s sale customers.”
