PUC Staff File Proposal For Energy Fund Backup Including Power Package Program
“Commission Staffs recommended proposal for publication in the above-referenced project for consideration at the December 18, 2025, Open Meeting. Commission Staff proposes new 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §25.513, relating to Texas Energy Fund – Texas Backup Power Package Program. The proposed rule will implement Public Utility Regulatory Act (PURA) §§34.0204, 34.0205, and 35.005(g) as enacted by Senate Bill 2627 during the Texas 88th Regular Legislative Session. The proposed rule will establish procedures for applying for a grant or loan for procurement, installation, and operation of Texas Backup Power Packages (TBPPs), terms for an applicant to request a grant or loan, as well as conditions under which a TBPP loan may be forgiven.”
The Texas Commission staff recommends the commission approve this draft for publication in the Texas Register. Parties interested in filings must be filed by January 30, 2026.
