PUCO Approves Termination of Supplier Coordination Agreements Between Utility and ResCom for Supplier Default at PJM

Category: Ohio

On February 18, 2026 PUCO approves entry granting the electric utilities requests submitted to terminate the supplier coordination agreements between the FirstEnergy Ohio electric distribution utilities and ResCom Energy LLC d/b/a NextVolt .

As reported previously, between February 10, 2026, and February 11, 2026, the regional transmission organization PJM Interconnection, LLC (PJM) notified the EDUs that NextVolt Energy, a load-serving entity in PJM, had defaulted on its obligations to PJM. PJM further notified the EDUs that PJM was initiating the process to return the load served by NextVolt Energy in the EDUs’ service territories to them as providers of last resort. Consequently, PJM is requiring the EDUs to supply the load of the customers previously served by NextVolt Energy.
