PURA Files Decision In Investigation Into Interconnection Process Modifications

Dockets: 25-01-27

From Decision:

[ *** ] SUMMARY

In this Decision, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Authority or PURA) directs the electric distribution companies (EDCs) to implement a number of changes to their standards and procedures for interconnecting electric generating facilities to their distribution systems. Specifically, the Authority approves six consensus and 10 non-consensus recommendations outlined in the 100-Day Sprint Report, submitted as correspondence on December 20, 2024, in Docket No. 17-12-03RE06, PURA Investigation into Distribution System Planning of the Electric Distribution Companies – Interconnection Standards and Practices. The Authority finds that adopting these recommendations will enhance the interconnection process by reducing timelines, clarifying requirements and responsibilities, improving dispute resolution procedures, and strengthening the overall process — thereby facilitating the development of more clean energy projects in support of the state’s goals.
