Staff Recommends Approval of AEP Ohio’s Proposed Changes To COGEN/SPP Tariff
In Ohio AEP Ohio proposed change to it cogeneration/small production tariff that could impact C&I customer billing for those locations with onsite cogeneration.
There were nine customers taking service under the SCHEDULE COGEN/SPP from March of 2023 through April of 2024.
As background, AEP Ohio filed its initial application on April 26, 2024. AEP Ohio is seeking approval of proposed updates to its cogeneration/small production tariff. The proposed changes would update the billing factor for COGEN/SPP facilities of 100 kW or less to $0.02939/kWh for the winter period and to $0.02997/kWh for the summer period. In response, Staff filed its recommendation that the PUC approve AEP Ohio’s proposed changes to its COGEN/SPP tariff.
