Technical Meeting Scheduled In Innovative Energy Solutions Program

In Connecticut the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) filed a notice of technical meeting in the Innovative Energy Solutions (IES) program.

[ *** ] On March 30, 2022, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Authority or PURA) issued a final Decision in Docket No. 17-12-03RE05, PURA Investigation into Distribution System Planning of the Electric Distribution Companies – Innovative Technology Applications and Programs (Innovation Pilots) (Final Decision), establishing the Innovative Energy Solutions (IES) Program whereby innovative pilot programs, technologies, products, and services can, on a limited basis, be deployed, investigated, and evaluated for overall impact, costs, and benefits, and brought to scale if ratepayer benefits are demonstrated. On December 15, 2025, the IES Program Administrator (Program Administrator) submitted a report (Program Administrator Report) regarding AmpUp, Edo, Kraken, and Piclo (collectively, Completed Projects), which are the four selected Projects that are completed. The Program Administrator Report, along with end-of-project reports from each EDC (EDC Reports) and each of the Completed Projects (Project Reports), will inform the Authority’s decision on scaling.

To facilitate the Authority’s decision regarding whether to approve the Completed Projects for deployment to scale, the Authority will hold a technical meeting on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., via remote access. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss: (1) the Project Reports, including each Completed Project’s performance and lessons learned; (2) the EDC Reports, including the successes and lessons learned from the EDC’s collaboration with the Completed Projects; (3) the Program Administrator Report; and (4) discuss any additional topics, such as process improvements, regarding IES Program implementation as deemed necessary by the Authority.
