PUCT Remands ERCOT State Of Charge NPRR & Removes Penalty Provisions

The Texas PUC (PUCT) has remanded to ERCOT NPRR1186 which had included penalties related to state of charge for batteries providing A/S

While under the remand process the PUC provides “suggestions” to ERCOT.  

“The Commission finds that NPRR1186 should not be approved as recommended by the ERCOT Board.”

The Commission ordered that NPRR1186 be remanded to the ERCOT Board with the following suggested modifications:

  1. The proposed amendment to add paragraph (4) to ERCOT Nodal Protocols § 8.1, QSE and Resource Performance Monitoring, should be removed in its entirety, including gray box language and subparagraphs (a) and (b).
