Utility Asks PUC to Pause Nationwide Energy Partners Proceeding

Dockets: 21-0990 ,Ohio

Ohio Power Company (AEP Ohio) files a motion for interim relief and memorandum in support asking the Ohio Commission to issue an interim order to pause the processing of all requests by Nationwide Energy Partners, L.L.C. (“NEP”) to convert apartment complexes to master-metered service, pending further proceedings in this docket and other, related dockets (e.g., Case No. 24-106-EL-ATA and 24-107-EL-ATA).

AEP Ohio in its filing stated that it “is proactively seeking a ruling from the Commission through this motion seeking interim relief of pausing any conversions during the remand proceeding.”

The appeal from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) was considered by the Supreme Court of Ohio in this matter.  The Supreme Court on June 23, 2026 issued an order reversing this case and remanded it back to PUCO for further proceedings, consistent with the opinion rendered.
