Utility Files Metering Process Improvement Plan
In Connecticut, the United Illuminating Company (UI) filed a Metering Process Improvement Plan in compliance with Order No. 13 in Docket No. 25-01-27, (UI) for review and approval, designed to enhance stakeholder transparency, reduce cycle time, and modernize workflows. “The plan herein introduces structured improvements enabling payment modernization, nonpayment activity process enhancements, and employs cross-departmental dependency tracking to mitigate delays and strengthen coordination amongst multiple internal departments.”
“UI respectfully submits this integration plan for PURA’s review and approval. The balanced payment and non-payment improvements, combined with dependency tracking and developer-error controls, are designed to deliver transparency, reduced cycle times, and a better customer experience while prudently managing ratepayer impacts.”
As background, PURA opened this proceeding to evaluate proposals from the Interconnection Working Group to address issues that have arisen during the annual reviews of the Non-Residential Renewable Energy Solutions (NRES) and Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) programs. Rather than addressing these issues on a one-off basis, PURA has instructed the Interconnection Working Group “to compile an Interconnection Report addressing the unresolved issues within a 100-Day Sprint.”
