Utility Files Revised Bulk Storage Implementation Plan For Competitive Direct Procurement
On May 18, 2026, Con Edison filed its revised bulk storage implementation plan for a competitive direct procurement of scheduling rights from qualified energy storage systems.
Suppliers must have advanced, transmission-connected storage projects with strong financial and operational experience. They must submit detailed, finance-ready bids covering technical design, costs, site control, and pricing.
Projects are selected mainly based on value versus price and, if selected, suppliers receive fixed payments while Con Edison controls dispatch and keeps market revenues.
