  • On December 19, 2024  the New Jersey Board Public Utilities (BPU) approved project scope and cost changes to the PJM – BPU State Agreement Approach for Offshore Wind transmission, resulting in a cost decrease of $8.2 million. (BPU Docket No. QO20100630).
  • Leading Light Wind asked the BPU for a second delay of its offshore wind project until May 20, 2025, stating: “The offshore wind equipment market continues to experience significant price volatility and the company has not yet identified a solution to that volatility.” The project director further stated: “This additional time will allow us to continue to navigate ongoing market shifts and supply chain challenges, as we work to advance development of this important project for New Jersey.”
  • On December 11, 2024, BPU President Guhl-Sadovy announced at a Public Utility Law Section meeting that the BPU has no plans to change their current approach to offshore wind.
