Massachusetts wants to pay EV drivers for their battery power

Eversource, National Grid, EnergyHub, Sunrun, and The Mobility House are partnering to pilot vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities in Massachusetts.

In a July 23rd article qualifying residential customers of Eversource and National Grid in Massachusetts will be able to enroll their vehicle-to-grid (V2G)-capable electric vehicles in the ConnectedSolutions program. The pilot will leverage ConnectedSolutions’ existing demand response platform, which currently uses flexible capacity from smart thermostats, batteries, and commercial and industrial resources to reduce grid strain to evaluate how V2G-enabled EVs can provide similar grid support.
