Staff Directed To File Comments And Recommendations On Sufficiency Of Utility’s SRC And ADFIT’s Refund Tariff

This Order addresses CenterPoint Entergy Houston Electric, LLC’ s February 10, 2025, compliance filing regarding refund of the balances in the collection accounts associated with rider system restoration charge (SRC) and accumulated deferred federal income tax (ADFIT)-Refund of system restoration charges (collectively, SRC Refund Rider). 

Excerpt from the Order:
{***} “In accordance with the Commission’ s Order in Docket No. 55995,1 CenterPoint Houston implemented the SRC Refund Rider as part of its retail tariff, effective August 11, 2024, in order to refund the remaining system restoration charge collection balance of $6,183,501.46 existing under schedules SRC and ADFIT, the system restoration overcollection balance. CenterPoint Houston currently estimates that no further billings under the SRC Refund Rider are required after February 25,2025. Accordingly, with this filing, CenterPoint Houston hereby files a revised SRC Refund Rider, which zeros out the per unit charge used to calculate the amount of each retail customer’ s monthly refund, effective February 26,2025. 

By February 21, 2025, Commission Staff must file comments and recommendations on the sufficiency of the CenterPoint Houston’s compliance filing, the appropriate method for processing this proceeding, and a proposed procedural schedule for continued processing, if appropriate.”{***}
