First Information Requests Sent to Utilities in Delivery Charges and Bill Redesign Investigation
On March 10th the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU) issued its first set of common information requests to the electric and gas utilities regarding the DPU;s investigation into gas and electric delivery charges and bill redesign

For each rate factor upon which the Company currently relies to collect delivery-related costs from ratepayers, please:
(a) indicate which rate the Company uses to calculate any carrying charges associated with the factor (e.g., customer deposit rate, prime rate, etc.), and explain how the Company determined to use such rate;
(b) explain how the Company has financed the costs to be recovered under the factor for each of the past five years;
(c) identify the sunset date of the rate factor, if applicable; and
(d) provide a breakdown of the operations and maintenance costs associated with the factor, and indicate which are one-time costs and which are recurring costs.
Each Distribution Company shall provide respective responses to the Department before 5:00 p.m. on or before March 24, 2026.
