ALJ Suspends Ameripro Energy Corp. Electric and Gas Supplier Application Until Further Notice

Category: Ohio

On April 3rd, an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) filed an entry suspending the automatic approval process of the applications for certification until further ordered by the Commission.

As reported previously, on March 9th, Ameripro Energy Corp. filed a competitive retail electric supplier Application with the Ohio Public Utilities Commission. Also, on the same date the company filed a competitive natural gas supplier (CRNGS) application with the Commission.  (See: Case No. 26-222-GA-CRS)

Per the Commission rules, the ALJ notes that “Pursuant to R.C. 4929.20 and Ohio Adm.Code 4901:1-27-10, Ameripro’s CRNGS application is subject to a 30-day automatic approval process. Similarly, pursuant to R.C. 4928.08 and Ohio Adm.Code 4901:1-24-10, the CRES application is subject to a 30- day automatic approval process. Both Ohio Adm.Code 4901:1-24-10 and 4901:1-27-10 further provide that, upon good cause shown, the Commission or an administrative law judge (ALJ) may suspend consideration of a CRES or CRNGS application, respectively. See also R.C. 4928.08 and 4929.20.”

“The ALJ finds that, to allow for further review of these matters by the Commission and Staff, good cause exists to suspend the 30-day automatic approval process with respect to Ameripro’s applications for certification as a CRES and CRNGS provider in the state of Ohio.”

The application indicates the company intends to serve to serve all customer classes throughout the State of Ohio.

The application also indicates that “”Ameripro Energy Corp. intends to work as a Competitive Retail Electricity Supplier in the state of Ohio once it obtains the necessary license approval. Ameripro will act as a Third-Party Supplier providing natural gas and electricity to end user customers. Currently, Ameripro is a licensed Competitive Retail Natural Gas and Electricity Supplier in the states of New York and New Jersey.
