Baltimore Gas And Electric Files Response To Implementation Of SB 1 Requirements
BG&E has determined that the existing customer list made available to suppliers will no longer be appropriate.
From BG&E Response:
[ *** ] After reviewing the requirements of the Do Not Transfer List, BGE has determined that the existing customer list made available to suppliers under section 2.11 of BGE’s Electric Supplier Coordination Tariff and section 2.19 of BGE’s Gas Supplier Tariff will no longer be appropriate. The existing customer list is available to suppliers at a cost of $715 per list and contain a listing of residential BGE customers who have not requested that their information be removed from the list. BGE believes the customer list has the potential to cause both customer and supplier confusion because there could be discrepancies between the customer list and Do Not Transfer list by having two sets of information due to the cadence of producing the lists and the potential for a customer’s intentions to be unaligned. For example, a customer could be added to the Do Not Transfer List while still being on the existing customer list suppliers use for marketing if not properly opted out. Suppliers could also be confused by the cadence of said lists where customers elections are not synchronized causing customers to appear to be shopping when they are on the Do Not Transfer List.
