CAUSE PA Files Comments in Favor of Peoples Automated Enrollment Proposal
On May 8, 2026 CAUSE-PA filed comments in response to the supplemental information submitted on April 15, 202.
In its comments CAUSE argued that Peoples’ automated enrollment proposal CAUSE would play a critical preventative role in addressing the growing number of struggling consumers and simplifying enrollment in CAP.
The comments also argued that the proposal would improve payment consistency and coverage, thereby reducing uncollectible expenses and the broader impacts of utility insecurity.
CAUSE-PA also commented that the PAPUC should permit utilities to expand their use of LIHEAP data to better reach the thousands of low-income households currently facing unaffordable bills.
