ComEd Files PEC Tariff Updates
On May 15, 2026 Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) tariff updates to its Purchased Electricity Charges (PECs) and PJM Services Charges (Transmission Services Charge) for electricity default service customers for the period starting June 1, 2026
The final PECs filed by ComEd with the Illinois Commerce Commission reflect the results of the spring default service procurement, and now also reflect the results of the May 8 PJM Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) Auctions.
The PECs reflect the cost of energy and capacity. The full Price to Compare includes the PEC plus ComEd’s PJM Services Charge (PSC), which reflects the cost of transmission.
Based on ComEd’s filing, the price to compare for residential customers is 10.399 cents per kWh on June 1, from the current PTC of 9.660 cents per kWh.
The Watt-hour Non-Electric Space Heating price to compare is 10.405 cents per kWh on June 1, from the current PTC of 9.675 cents per kWh.
