UI Files Standard Service and Last Resort Service Rates

With Effective Date of July 1, 2026

On May 15, 2026 the United Illuminating Company (UI) has filed a Motion with Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA)  for approval to incorporate the results of UI’s most recent PURA approved power procurement for Standard Service (“SS”) and Last Resort Service (“LRS”) into new Supply charges effective July 1, 2026.

The complete analysis of the Supply rates effective July 1, 2026, with all calculations preserved is given in Attachment 1 – See  – 2026-05-15 UI Attachment 1 Supply Rate Calculations #26-01-02.xlsx

The proposed SS and LRS rates effective July 1, 2026, are shown in Attachment 2 –  See:  – 2026-05-15 UI Attachment 2 Supply Rate Calculations #26-01-02.xlsx

UI requests PURA to give administrative approval to maintain the Bypassable FMCC (“BFMCC”) rate equal to 0.0000 ¢/kWh. Additionally, UI asks PURA to give administrative approval to maintain the Supply administrative adder rate equal to 0.8049 ¢/kWh as approved by the Authority in its November 15, 2023, Motion No. 11 Ruling in Docket No. 23-01-04, PURA Annual Review of the Rate Adjustment Mechanisms. The Company’s administrative expenses to provide default generation service and load settlement are recovered through the Supply administrative adder. Additionally, previous over-collections or under-collections are reconciled through the Supply administrative adder. The present and proposed adders are shown on Attachment 2 Page 2 of 2.

UI reports that SS generation revenues on an annualized basis will decrease by $60,552,087, or 11.7%. The overall effect on rates for customers taking SS generation service is a reduction of 5.8% as shown in Attachment 1 Exhibit 5 Page 2 of 6.

The proposed SS retail rates for the second half of 2026 are shown on Attachment 2 Page 2 of 2. UI reports that LRS generation revenues on an annualized basis will decrease by $10,746,877, or 9.0%.

The overall effect on rates for customers taking LRS generation service is a reduction of 5.9% as shown in Attachment 1 Exhibit 5 Page 2 of 6.

The proposed LRS retail rates by month are shown on Attachment 2 Page 1 of 2.

UI reports that BFMCC revenues on an annualized basis will remain at $0 as shown in Attachment 1 Exhibit 5 Page 2 of 6. The proposed BFMCC retail rate for the second half of 2026 is shown in Attachment 2 Page 1 of 2.
