Commission Appoints New Cyber-Security Reporting Work Group Leader

[ *** ] In Commission Order No. 884991 the Commission tasked its Technical Staff with convening a work group for purposes of recommending a framework for future cyber-security reporting of IT systems, operations technology (“OT system”) and control systems. The Cyber-Security Reporting Work Group (“CSRWG”) was led by the Commission’s Technical Staff, John Borkoski, and consisted of representatives from Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (“BGE”), Choptank, Exelon, the Maryland Office of People’s Counsel (“OPC”), Potomac Edison/FirstEnergy, Pepco Holding, Inc. (“PHI”), Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (“SMECO”), and Washington Gas Light Company (“WGL”).
The Commission hereby appoints Ben Abramovitz, IT Cyber-Security Director, as the new CSRWG leader. Having joined the Commission in November 2024, Mr. Abramovitz has been collaborating with other states, NARUC, DoIT, the Maryland Cybersecurity Council’s Critical Infrastructure Subcommittee and the utilities to shape the Commission’s cybersecurity program and all other responsibilities associated with this program.
