Commission Files Notice Initiating Rulemaking To Eliminate Certain Utility Reporting Requirements Requested By PC57 Work Group (Modernizing Commission’s Staffing And Resources)

The Commission opened the docket to consider revisions to Code of Maryland Regulation (COMAR) 20.40, 20.31, and 20.85.

Comments on the proposed regulations shall be e-filed by March 1, 2024. The comments should be addressed to Andrew S. Johnston, Executive Secretary, Maryland Public Service Commission, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, Maryland 21202. The Administrative Docket number (RM82) must appear in the subject line of the cover letter. 

For Section 20.40.02, the Work Group is recommending to remove the requirement to file a loan or guarantee annual report to an affiliate. 

For Section 20.31.02, the Work Group is recommending to update the reporting requirements for weather station areas.  

For Section 20.85.03, the Work Group is recommending to remove the annual report on residential underground electric distribution systems and service lines.

All changes are noted in redline in Exhibit A to the PC57 Summary Report.
