Commission Files Notice Of Comment Period And Hearings In EmPOWER Maryland Program

The Maryland Public Service Commission hereby gives notice that it will conduct legislative-style hearings on May 7, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the Frank O. Heintz Hearing Room, 16th Floor, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland to consider the Q3/Q4 2023 semi-annual reports of The Potomac Edison Company, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, Delmarva Power & Light Company, Potomac Electric Power Company, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc., Washington Gas Light Company, and the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. 

At the May 7 hearing, the Commission will also consider the Finance Work Group status report, the Midstream Work Group status report, the utility midstream follow-up report, the appliance recycling rebate status report, the Cost Recovery Work Group status report, and the EmPOWER Reporting and Process Improvement Work Group status report.  

Written comments on the EMPOWER Maryland Plans, semi-annual reports, and other reports shall be filed by April 15, 2024. All filings should be addressed to Andrew S. Johnston, Executive Secretary, Maryland Public Service Commission, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, Maryland 21202, and reference “Case No. 9705” and/or “Case No. 9648” in the subject line. The Commission encourages the parties to use its “eFile” system to submit the electronic version of the filing. Details of the “eFile” system can be found on the Commission’s website, www.psc.state.md.us.
