PSC Files Notice Of Virtual Technical Conference Re: Utility’s Community Renewable Energy Facility Practices

- In Order No. 21908, the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia (“Commission”), among other things, granted the Potomac Electric Power Company’s (“Pepco” or “Company”) request for additional time until November 15, 2023, to remove the Company’s meters. In that same Order, the Commission directed that technical conferences be scheduled and facilitated by Commission Staff to help parties and stakeholders establish a protocol and flush out details of any issues experienced in Pepco bringing its CREF metering practices into compliance with the law and the Commission’s directives. The Commission also directed that the technical conferences are to be used as a vehicle to explore and propose permanent automated solutions. The first Technical Conference was held virtually on October 11, 2023. The second and third Technical Conferences were held virtually on November 2, 2023, and November 30, 2023, respectively.
- Commission Staff will convene the fourth Technical Conference virtually on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Current parties and stakeholders will receive an invitation from the Commission’s Secretary’s office which will include information for accessing the technical conference. An agenda will be sent by Commission Staff to the same list of parties and stakeholders prior to the conference. All participants should be prepared to discuss the subject matters listed on the agenda, which will be based on the specific directives in Order No. 21908 and matters discussed at the previous Technical Conferences.
