DOER Issued A Reminder That Compliance Year 2023 Is The Final Year Of The Solar Carve-Out Program
2023 SREC I certificate must be sold in the open market by June 15, 2024. SREC I certificates will not be eligible for deposit in this year’s auction and will lose their value if not sold and used for compliance in the 2023 compliance year.
SREC II deposits in auction accounts due by May 15, 2024.
DOER issued notification that the Solar Credit Clearinghouse Auction Account for Solar Carve-Out II is currently open for deposits (5/17/24). Of note, “If vintage 2023 SRECs are not sold or deposited into the auction as of [6/15/24], it is very unlikely that SREC owners will be able to obtain any value from them.”
(DOER process to consider and establish the Annual Credit Clearinghouse Auction I and II for SREC creators as well as the preliminary CY 2023 SREC I and SREC II Minimum Standards for load serving entities.)
Also note that DOER is facilitating sale of SRECs by posting information of potential buyers and sellers on the Solar Credit Auction webpage.
Contact doer.srec@mass.gov by 6/10/24 for inclusion on the Solar Credit Auction webpage list of SREC buyers and sellers.
