Family Energy Seeks 90 Day Extension To Comply With NYPSC’s Broker/Consultant Rules

Family Energy respectfully requests an extension of ninety (90) days for compliance with several ordering paragraphs of the New York Public Service Commission’s April 18, 2024, broker regulation order on rehearing.  

Specifically, Family Energy submits that an extension of the compliance date for Ordering Paragraphs 3, 6, 7 and 9 of the Order by ninety (90) days is justified and reasonable.  

  • Paragraph 3 – The new Uniform Business Practices (UBPs) are effective June 17, 2024
  • Paragraph 6. Brokers/consultants shall comply with the new UBPs
  • Paragraph 7 – Brokers/consultants shall register with the PSC by June 17, 2024
  • Paragraph 9 – ESCOs shall update their customer contracts by June 17, 2024, to include the new disclosure on broker/consultant compensation.
