Informational Filing Submitted by FirstEnergy Re: Corporation Separation Settlement

On April 7, 2026 FirstEnergy submitted an informational filing based on the settlement reached among the parties regarding corporate separation rules.

As reported previously, the utility agreed to pay $269,060,505 in total restitution to consumers, (1) including $244,060,505 in restitution paid, over a three-month period, as credits to consumers through the delivery capital recovery rider, allocated by rate class in the same manner collected through the distribution modernization rider; (2) $5,000,000 in restitution paid as credits to residential consumers through Rider DCR; and (3) $20,000,000 in restitution paid to establish a two-year bill payment assistance program and three-year energy efficiency program.
