IPA Draft 2026 Procurement Plans Released For Public Comment
The Illinois Power Agency (IPA) released two procurement plans for public review and comment.
The draft 2026 Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan (draft 2026 Long-Term Plan) details the goals and strategies for the IPA’s renewable energy programs and procurements, including program capacity and renewable energy credit pricing for the Illinois Shines and Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA) solar incentive programs. The draft 2026 Long-Term Plan covers proposed renewable energy procurement and programmatic activities over the 2026-27 and 2027-28 program years. The IPA welcomes public comments on the draft 2026 Long-Term Plan. Written comments are due on Monday, September 29. The Agency will also hold a virtual public hearing for the draft 2026 Long-Term Plan on Thursday, September 25. The draft 2026 Electricity Procurement Plan sets forth the IPA’s block energy and capacity procurement approach to meet the supply requirements of residential and small commercial customers taking electricity supply service from Ameren Illinois, Commonwealth Edison, and MidAmerican Energy Company. The IPA also welcomes public comments on the draft 2026 Electricity Procurement Plan. Written comments are due on Monday, September 15. The Agency will also hold a virtual public hearing for the draft Electricity Procurement Plan on Thursday, September 11.
