Maine Natural Gas Files Stipulation & Supporting Tariff

Maine Natural Gas (MNG) filed a stipulation whereby MNG and OPA, the only intervening party, agreed to all rates and caps in MNG’s 3/24/25 updated filing.
On April 17, 2025, MNG filed tariffs reflecting stipulated rates, to be effective 5/1/25 and on April 21, 2025 MNG filed tariff sheets related to Efficiency Maine Trust.
As background, MNG is proposing the following average residential rates:
- Non-Augusta Customers $1.1589 per therm, an increase of 1.3754% with the average bill expected to increase from $81.32 to $82.44;
- Augusta customers under contract as of 6/1/16: $1.0224 per therm, an increase of 1.8165% with the average bill expected to increase from $181.30 to $184.60; and
- Augusta customers added after 6/1/16: $1.4780 per therm, a decrease of 3.4242% with the average bill expected to decrease from $143.08 to $138.19.
