Memo Clarifies Process for Missing DER Required Payments

Category: New York

On June 30, 2026 New York PSC Staff filed a memo clarifying that projects which fall out of Appendix M due to missing required payments will not automatically lose their interconnection queue position under the SIRs.

However, Staff noted to keep a project in place, the applicant must pay 100% of the required deposit within a reasonable time, defined as 30 calendar days after the release date. If the payment is not made within that 30-day window, the utility must remove the project from the interconnection queue.

New York PSC opened this proceeding to consider standardized interconnection requirements, the application process for new distributed generators, and energy storage systems 5 MW or less connected to the utility distribution systems.
