NOPEC Supports OCC & Ohio Manufacturers’ Energy Group’s Appeal
NOPEC filed a motion supporting the interlocutory appeal filed on March 4, 2024 by the OCC and the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association Energy Group
Ohio Edison Company, Cleveland Electric Illuminating, and Toledo Edison filed a memorandum contra requesting that the attorney examiners deny certification (3/11/24).
As background, this proceeding was initiated to review the Distribution Modernization Rider of the FirstEnergy utilities.
OCC filed an interlocutory appeal request for certification to the PUCO and application for review by the OCC and Ohio Manufacturers’ Association Energy Group (3/4/24).
The DMR was ultimately struck down in 2019 by the state Supreme Court, and monies collected under the rider were refunded to customers, but the review by a third-party monitor continued.
