Nstar Files To Substantially Increase POR Discounts

Nstar (Eversource) files with the Massachusetts DPU proposed new standard complete billing percentages (SCBPs), or purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, proposed to be effective May 1, 2025

On behalf of NSTAR Electric Company d/b/a Eversource Energy (“Eversource” or the “Company”), please find attached the Company’s request for approval of consolidated POR discount rates by customer class for effect May 1, 2025, and supporting schedules, provided as Exhibit ES-1. The POR discount rates presented in Exhibit ES-1 are submitted consistent with the Section 8B.2.b of the Company’s Terms and Conditions – Competitive Suppliers and Competitive REA Suppliers and Terms and Conditions – Competitive Suppliers (together, the “Terms and Conditions”), effective January 1, 2025, as approved by the Department of Public Utilities (the “Department”). 

The Company’s Proposed Consolidated SCBP Discount Rates are provided below:

Residential 1.55% 

Commercial 0.65% 

Industrial 0.41% 

Other Incorporated in Commercial

Pursuant to Section 8B.2.a of the Terms and Conditions, the Company is also providing notice that the average historical payment periods that will be in place effective May 1, 2025, will be as follows: 

  • EMA (all classes) – 35 Days
  • WMA (all classes) – 39 Days
