OCA’s Motion For Rehearing In Utility’s Default Service Decision Denied
“This order denies a motion by the Office of the Consumer Advocate (OCA) for rehearing of the supplemental order of notice issued by the Commission in this instant docket on February 27, 2025, and denies the OCA’s request for disqualification of the Commissioners, and recusal of Commission Senior Advisor Alexander Speidel, Esq., from this proceeding. This order also, in response to a motion for clarification filed by the New Hampshire Department of Energy (DOE) filed on March 13, 2025, and partly in response to concerns raised by the OCA, directs Liberty Utilities (Granite State Electric) Corp. d/b/a Liberty (Liberty or the Company) to make certain specific proposals in this Default Service proceeding, Docket No. DE 24-061, and in the Company’s forthcoming 2025 Retail Rate Adjustments proceeding, and effectuates a transfer of issues related thereto.”
In this order the Commission also kicks the can down the road regarding consideration of potential hedging of default service electricity supplies by deferring such a decision until the next default service period.
