PECO Files to Withdraw its Recently Proposed 500 Million Dolar Rate Hike
Points to affordability concerns
In a news release, PECO’s CEO and President David Vahos states:
“While our filing with the PUC would have provided needed improvements in safe and reliable energy delivery, we recognize that Pennsylvanians are struggling with basic necessities like gas, food, and energy and have decided to withdraw our proposal,”
Just a few weeks after asking the Pennsylvania Commission for a $510 million electric and gas rate hike, PECO in its filing to withdraw its rate requests points to customer affordability concerns.
“In the wake of the filing … and reflecting upon concerns expressed by customers, policymakers, regional leaders, and community partners, PECO has determined to seek leave to withdraw [its proposal] and maintain electric distribution rates at current levels,”
