PSC Announces Retirement Of Commissioner Anthony O’Donnell

Commissioner Anthony J. O’Donnell, who has been a member of the Maryland Public Service Commission for nearly eight years, has retired as of June 1, 2024.
First appointed to the bench by Governor Larry Hogan in 2016 to fill out the unexpired term of Commissioner Anne Hoskins, Commissioner O’Donnell was reappointed in 2021. The Commission regulates electric and gas utilities, and passenger-for-hire transportation companies.
For 21 years, Commissioner O’Donnell represented the people of Calvert and St. Mary’s counties in the Maryland General Assembly’s House of Delegates. He held a variety of leadership roles including senior minority member of the Environment and Transportation Committee (2015-16), House Minority Whip (2003-06), and House Minority Leader (2006-13).
