PUC Approves Gas Utility’s Default Service Rates

On September 30th, the Maine Public Utility Commission (PUC) issued order approving Summit’s proposed: (1) “Deferred Gas Cost Rate of $0.079 per therm and Forecast Capacity Cost Rate of 1.802 per therm for all customer classes effective October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026”; and (2) “Lost and Unaccounted For Gas (LAUF) percentage rate of 0.39, consistent with its revised calculations filed on August 21, 2025, as the additional quantity to be added to nominations for Sales customers’ supply and to all gas deliveries into Summit’s system by Transportation Service customers in the upcoming year.”

Previously on August 29th, the Office of Public Advocates (OPA) filed exceptions to the Hearing Examiner’s report.
