Commission Policy Statement Follows Extensive Review of Stakeholder Input and Public Comment from Utilities, Advocates, State Agencies, Consumer Groups and Other Parties

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a final policy statement establishing guidelines for the use of electricity storage by electric distribution companies (EDC).

The PUC voted 5-0 today to adopt the final policy statement – creating a path for future use of various “non-wires solutions” that enhance the reliability and resilience of the electric distribution grid in Pennsylvania and help provide better service to customers.
