PURA Files Notice Of Proceeding In United Illuminating’s Application To Amend Rate Schedule

On October 1, 2024, pursuant to Conn. Agencies Reg. § 16-1-22(b), The United Illuminating Company (Company) submitted a notice of intent (Notice of Intent) to file an application (Application) to amend its existing rate schedules within 60 days. Conn. Agencies Regs. §16-1-22(b) According to the Notice of Intent, the Company seeks to increase annual revenues above current levels by approximately $105 million, or approximately 9.3% over currently authorized revenues or 34.2% over currently authorized distribution revenues, effective November 1, 2025. Upon receipt of a completed Application, the Authority will conduct a contested proceeding pursuant to General Statutes §§ 16-11, 16-19, 16-19e, 16-19bb, 16-19gg, as amended by § 6 of Public Act 23-102, An Act Strengthening Protections for Connecticut’s Consumers of Energy (Public Act 23-102), 16-19kk, 16-19oo, 16-19tt, as amended by § 1 of Public Act 23-102, 16-19yy, and 16-22.
