PURA Files Notice Of Technical Meeting And Notice Of Hearing In Investigation Into Distribution System Planning Of The Electric Distribution Companies – New Rate Designs And Rates Review

On June 18, 2024, the Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC) submitted a motion (Motion No. 91) requesting that the Authority modify the procedural schedule of the above-captioned docket and add a technical meeting to “allow for the participation of the Department of Social Services (“DSS”), discussion of parties’ pre-filed testimony, and other proposals prior to the hearing scheduled for July 24, 2024.” The Authority granted Motion No. 91 and is issuing the ruling simultaneously with this Notice.
Accordingly, a technical meeting of the Authority staff and Parties and Intervenors will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 1:30 P.M., via remote access. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss whether the LIDR Decision should be modified, what modifications should be made (e.g., creation of additional tiers), and the estimated cost and timeline implications of implementing such modifications, with a particular emphasis on soliciting any information made available by the Department of Social Services.
All Parties and Intervenors planning to present must provide a list of presenters and an estimated time to present to the case coordinator, Laura Lupoli at laura.lupoli@ct.gov, by 4:00 P.M. on Monday, July 15, 2024. The Authority will then issue a meeting agenda, which will allow time for PURA staff, Parties, and Intervenors to ask questions of each presenter. All Parties and Intervenors providing presentations must file their presentations through the Authority’s web filing system and provide a copy to the case coordinator by 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2024. The Technical Meeting will take place through remote access. Access instructions are set forth below.

The Authority hereby announces that it will also hold an evidentiary hearing on this matter at PURA’s offices, Ten Franklin Square, New Britain, Connecticut, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, beginning at 1:00 P.M., to receive testimony and any additional evidence regarding whether the LIDR Decision should be modified, what modifications should be made (e.g., creation of additional tiers), and the estimated cost and timeline implications of implementing such modifications. The Authority may continue the hearing on additional dates, as deemed necessary.
