Settlement Reached In Support of Gas Utility’s Rate Case
In Pennsylvania parties filed a joint petition for settlement and statements in support (1) Valley Energy must not place into effect the rates in Supplement No. 69 to Tariff Gas – Pa. P.U.C. No. 2 regarding its cost recovery base rates for gas service revenues within its service territory; and (2) Valley is authorized to produce an annual increase in gas distribution base rate operating revenues of approximately $1.105 million, effective January 29, 2026.
As background, Valley Energy filed a rate case seeking to increase its annual distribution revenues by approximately $1.6 million, or 19%. If the new rates are approved, residential customers using 76 Ccf/month would see an increase from $66.81 to $78.84, or 18%, on their monthly bill. If approved as filed a commercial customer using 258 Ccf/month would see its monthly bill increase by $27.10 from $183.19 to $210.29, or 14.8%.
