Utilities File Residential Supply Cost Reports Comparing Supplier Rates Against Utility SOS Rates
As reported previously, Maryland’s Senate Bill 1 (“SB 1”), enacted after the 2024 Session of the General Assembly and effective July 1, 2024, requires – inter alia – electric and gas utilities or entities that bill residential electric and gas supply customers to report monthly to the Commission the prices paid by electric and gas retail supply customers, and compare those prices to SOS and Default Gas Service prices (the “Supply Cost Report”).
In addition, the utilities have participated in the discussions with Commission Staff and other stakeholders that resulted in Staff’s Report on Senate Bill 1 Do Not Transfer List and Supplier Customer Prices Paid, which was filed on December 6, 2024 (“Staff’s Report), and sets forth Staff’s recommendations for the Supply Cost Report, inter alia.
