Utility Files Annual Rate Adjustment Filing
On March 2nd, UI made its annual rate adjustment mechanisms RAM filing.
According to UI testimony, this filing is for a proposed total revenue requirement decrease to take effect May 1, 2026.
UI said the two largest drivers of the proposed rate decrease are the Locational Marginal Prices (LMP) that impact UI’s nuclear and other power purchase agreements (PPA) and the anticipated continuation of state bond funding.
This rate adjustment would result in an estimated monthly bill decrease of approximately 11.37%, or roughly $27.89, for a typical residential Rate R customer using 700 kWh per month.
PURA annual review of the rate adjustment mechanisms of UI. These include bypassable and nonbypassable charges such as the Transmission Adjustment Clause (TAC) rate, Non-Bypassable Federally Mandated Congestion Charge (NBFMCC), Systems Benefit Charge (SBC), and Revenue Decoupling Mechanism (RDM) rates.
