Electric Utility Files Petition to Modify Default Service Master Agreement
System change request would allow more participation in wholesale default supply auctions
UGI Electric filed a petition with the Pennsylvania PUC to modify Its default service supplier master agreement to allow Global Systematically Important Banks (GSIBS) to participate in the Utility’s wholesale default supply auctions.
Specifically, “UGI Electric is requesting approval to add Appendix 1 to its SMA …, which is necessary in order for GSIBs to participate in the Company’s wholesale default supply auctions. Allowing GSIBs to participate in the wholesale auctions will permit these additional, well-qualified parties to compete and bid in the wholesale auction, thereby expanding the scope of eligible bidders.”
In its petition UGI requests expedited approval from the Commission.
